Acupuncture
Our certified Physical Therapists in Acupuncture utilize a combination of both Traditional Chinese Medicine and Medical Models to achieve maximum benefit for our clients.
Acupuncture is defined by the Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) approach as a method of balancing the body’s energy by inserting needles into the skin at specific points along energy pathways (meridians), to prevent or cure diseases and/or disorders.
Modern/Medical approaches to acupuncture recognize that needles inserted at acupuncture points induce endorphin-medicated blockage of pain pathways within the body.
Our Physical Therapists have found acupuncture to be extremely successful in managing a wide range of conditions, some of which include:
• Headaches
• Whiplash associated disorders (WAD)
• Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS/RSD)
• arthritic inflammatory conditions
• postoperative pain
• joint and myofascial disorders
• low back pain
• neuralgia/sciatica
• fascial pain associated with TMJ disorders
• trigeminal neuralgia
• sinusitis |
