Soft tissue injury
This broad definition includes variety of muscle and tendons strains and ligaments sprains in the lumbar region. The injury normally occurs either over period of time (repetitive strain) or as a result of single accident. The symptoms may vary from sharp pain to constant dull ache and muscle fatigue, normally localised to the low back area. The treatment protocols may involve manual therapy, variety of electrotherapy, massage therapy, acupuncture as well as passive and active exercise programs at the appropriate stages of recovery.
Disc disease
This term relates to any structural abnormality of the intravertebral spinal discs, accompanied by acute local low back pain along with the pain, altered sensations or weakness in the lower extremities. This condition may be resolved for the most parts by conservative approach (utilizing physiotherapy tools, such as manual therapy, acupuncture, combination of passive and active exercise programs, as well as variety of electrotherapy) or some cases will require surgical intervention ( disc removal).
We also offer treatment protocols for those who underwent surgical procedure, in order to facilitate healing and return to the normal function.
Sciatica
This syndrome represents variety of conditions that result in irritations or compression of the Sciatic nerve. One of the frequent reasons for Sciatica will be Piriformis syndrome, where the nerve is being pinched by the piriformis muscle. The common symptoms will be pain or/and altered sensations referring to the back of the hips and down the leg. Our goal will be to identify the source of the problem and apply appropriate treatment protocol based on our findings. Based on our experience, one of the most successful tools for Sciatica was using acupuncture combined with the appropriate manual therapy techniques and exercise programs.
Postural problems
It is a common fact that postural problems will inevitably lead to the structural disarrangements and eventually to low back pain. In order to avoid future problems it is very important to identify and address postural issues.
Our therapists specialize on conducting postural analyses and creating appropriate exercise protocol in order to resolve or prevent low back pain associated with the postural problems.
Osteoarthritis
This term relates to any structural damage occurred to the joint (bone or/and cartilage tissue). Unfortunately for the most parts these changes are irreversible. However, this condition is often accompanied by soft tissue component which CAN be helped with physiotherapy treatments. The symptomatical treatments will involve acupuncture, electrotherapy, and manual therapy, massage therapy and exercise programs. Our therapists will also instruct and educate you regarding proper back use at your work, sports and other leisure activities.
