Postural Re-education
It would be impossible to overestimate the importance of the proper posture in human body. Maintaining of good spine posture has both preventative and therapeutic implications.
First it will help to avoid range of muscle skeletal problems in the future. Many conditions such as shoulder tendonitis, anterior knee pain and even tension headaches may develop due to lack of proper posture.
On the other hand development of correct postural alignment and the recruitment of the appropriate muscles that maintain the efficient posture is the key to a long term recovery from a soft tissue injury.
The key muscles that must be developed include the deep neck flexors and the core muscles of the lumbar spine.
Our physiotherapists along with kinesiologists conduct postural analysis in order to identify postural issues as a cause for the musculo-sceletal dysfunction. Consequently they develop exercise programs tailored to the patient’s individual functional needs. |
